I have always cared for the environment and I am convinced more use should be made of derelict or underused plots of land. I think that a variety of small scale methods can be taught to the community in order to make better use of some of these. I also think that school grounds are a valuable community resource and that pupils can be taught how to garden and how to grow their own food as well as being made aware of the need to look after their environment.
